The PPP party.....(Pink Princess Party)

So I have survived the PINK Princess party:) We had such great weather and it was perfect for an outside birthday party. Makenna has been counting down to her big PARTY for weeks now, and she was so excited. She wore her PINK tutu skirt and a white shirt. (I had to change her shirt one time even before we started....she is a little clumsy...just like her mama...and always spills).
Most of her friends came and she loved that everyone was all dressed up in PINK.
Makenna is so lucky to have such great friends...
When I was putting Benjamin to bed that night, she popped her head into the room and said "Mommy thank you for my party".

I am the birthday girl....
The Princess cupcakes
I made a pink princess castle cake...and Makenna could not wait to dig into it:)
All her friends sang "Happy Bithday"and she loved every minute
30 pink balloons... ( try to get that into a car!!! Hurray for minivans)

Makenna 3 years old

My little girl is turning 3 today and I just can't believe how big she is getting. She is my little sunshine, always happy and ready to go. She is full of energy and her smiles can make anyone smile. I am so lucky to be her mother and she teaches me new things everyday:)
She got a new bike today...and she is so excited. On Saturday we are going to have a Pink Princess( Off course) party..and she wants it to be NOW.

Our weekends....are so busy!!!

So the older the kids the busier the weekend ...is that just for us?

Since Jonah started soccer, he has a game every Saturday and is just seems like there is always a thousand things going on...birthday parties etc...This Saturday was just crazy...but we survived!

Jonah in action at the game...he LOVES playing soccer, and asks almost everyday if it is time for his soccer practice or game...

We have some friends who were getting rid of 6 razor-bikes...and we willingly took them on:) We surprised Jonah and Makenna Saturday morning with them...and they were so excited! ...Joanh has been driving them non stop since....

and then saturday night we went to 2 parties. A birthday party at the Adema's and a Party at church. Makenna was hitting the balls at the Adema's house and was getting really into it...

Benjamin is crawling

Benjamin just turned 7 months this week, and he also started crawling. He is just such a sweet little boy.....but my life is going to be alot more hectic with a baby all over. He was not stationary for very long...it just goes by way too fast. ( Sorry for the screaming kids in the background, I was trying to ignore them.)

Photography class

So I have always been into taking pictures...but just kind of stayed on the green automatic button.
I always wanted to learn more, and I finally started a photography class a couple of weeks ago with my friend Melissa. It has been so fun and informative, and I just feel so much more confident with all the settings on my camera.
We just went on a field trip with the class and here are some of the pictures I took. We are working on the depth of field...and I am finally getting the point of the F-stops and the speeds!!!!

Makenna is my little helper....no matter if I need it or not!

Makenna loves to help me bake and cook. I don't always enjoy the help because sometimes I just want to do it by myself...but I usually let her help me. It is just a lot more to clean as she misses the bowl, cracks the egg before the bowl etc....but her favorite thing is the tasting off course....

"But mommy I have to check it out..."
"..just one more taste...this is the last one I promise"
"mmmm delicous"

Santa Cruz County Fair...

It has been so busy lately..so I am way behind on posting...but last Tuesday we went to the annual Santa Cruz County Fair. The kids had so much fun looking at the animals...and running around crazy.
Peter met me there and that really helped me out..and they love it when Daddy also comes:)

Makenna learning how to milk a cow
Jonah loved this...
Jonah admiring the full grown chickens...

Siena on the runway...

The Capitola mall( in Santa Cruz) had a runway fashion show last Saturday. It was a Back to School theme, and they had invited kids from the commuity to model the clothes.
Siena was a part of it and modeled a outfit from Pacific Sunwear. She did a great job, and showed a couple of poses....

So we were getting ready for church yesterday and Jonah wanted to have deodorant just like daddy...and also fix his hair just like him. At least he did not want to shave...( he already tried to do that a few months ago without us knowing. He came out of my bathroom with a bleeding shaved scrape on his chin...)

Makenna just wanted to be a ballerina for church!

chickens...

So we thought our lives were not busy enough...and decided to add 6 chicks ( real ones ) to our daily crazyness!!! They are only about 2 weeks old and have to live under a special warming light in the garage for the next 6 weeks. We can then move them to the chicken coop.
The kids just love it, and they can't wait for them to start laying eggs.....
It is never a dull moment over here...

Makenna's first Ballet class

My little girl started her first ballet class....and she has been looking forward to this for a few weeks. She did really good and just walked right into the class. She is such a determined and independent girl!

Jonah's first soccer game

Jonah had his first soccer game saturday..and it was so much fun. When we got to the field he started doing some pack pushups....(I think he was trying to impress some girls walking by!!!)
Jonah did really good trying to kick the ball in the right direction. As this team are mostly 4 and 5 year olds...the ball was everywhere. They also decided to change the goal side after halftime...and that really messed some of the kids up. It was really funny though to see their happy faces as they just kicked the ball around. At the end the coach told Jonah to watch the goal, and make sure the ball did not go in it....and he really took that too heart. I think he finally knew what to do...and so he did not move from the goal!!! Wen I asked him later what his favorite part was...he said " I did really good not letting the ball in!"

Bonfire and movie night....in our backyard

We have had some great warm summer nights lately. So Peter and i decided we should have movie night outside. We also have a firepit in our backyard which is perfect for a bonfire.
We invited some friends and their kids and had some great S'mores by the bonfire and then we watched "Nimos Island" on the big screen. We had so much fun, and even though it ended kind of late, most of the kids were still awake....We will definetly do it again before the summer is over!

The kids loved the fire..off course
Good friends...good times...we will do it soon again!
It worked perfect with the big screen, we just had to wait until it got dark enough
Jonah and a S'mores stick....beware Makenna lasted about half the movie before she was sleeping.

Peters lips....

One of my favorite things about Peter..is his lips:)
And Benjamin totally got his lips and eyes.

Makenna's goofy side

Makenna is quite a goofball, and I love that side of her. When she talks or explains something she is quite animated, and you always know what kind of mood she is in or what she is trying to explain just by looking at her facial expressions...I hope she keeps the goofy side forever:)
